Pocari looks for another win against Laoag

Pre-season favourite women’s volley team Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors is now looking to grab 3rd victory when battling with powerful team Laoag in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference on Saturday. In the last week’s match Lady Warrior swept away UP Lady Maroons, 25-18, 25-14, 25-22, followed by the clash with National U Lady Bulldogs, where they thrilled the fans with the score of 34-32, 17-25, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11.

But facing dangerous Laoag would be not easy, Pocari coach Rommel Abelle wants her team to plan a big game especially from expert Michele Gumabao in the upcoming faceoff.

Rommel Abelle said, “She’s our most consistent player so far and we will continue to rely on her,”
Gumabao is a former La Salle Star who exploded 27 points in the Wednesday’s match with NU and also was unstoppable on defense by stopping constant eight attempts by NU.

Kasilag and Myla Pablo added 21 and 18 points to respectively to bring home the victory. However, this match would be competitive as Laoag is also eager to mark their presence in Shakey’s V-League with Adamson standouts Galanza and Paat. In the first two games, Laoag lost to NU and won against Iriga.

Lady Warriors targets a 3-0 start scheduled to go live at 6.30 P.M at Filoil Flying V Centre.
Meanwhile, Philippine Air Force and Baguio clash at 4 P.M. Air Force brought a maven in rookie Dell Palamonta who is again unstoppable. Needless to say 6-foot-3 Palomata debuted with 16 points in Jet Spikers trashing Bali Pure with 25-23, 14-25, 25-19, 25-16 last Monday. Jet Spikers can expect some great moves from Dell Palomata, May Pantino, Judy Caballejo and Jocemer Tapic.

Also we get to see a clash between Air Force and Cignal in the Spikers’ Turf Season 2 Open Conference at 1 PM. notably; both teams completed their opening assignment last week.
