The San Beda Red Lions outlasted the Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates, 91-86, on Tuested in the 92nd NCAA basketball at The Arena in San Juan.
Davon Potts, a transferree from the the NCAA Division II in US, scored 12 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter that provided the lift for the Red Lions to create a distance and win their second game of the tournament. This is the second straigth victory of the Red Lions. Potts also had 16 points on Saturday’s opener against Letran at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.
Dan Sara added 14 points while imports Donald Tankoua and Arnaud Noah were combined for 22 points and 12 rebounds. Furthermore, Javee Mocon had 11 points and 13 rebounds and four assists.
“He was just clutch again,” said San Beda coach Jamike Jarin of Potts.
The Pirates were led by Wilson Baltazar with 24 points but in a losing cause.
