Nzeusseu leads Lyceum frontcourt to overpower San Sebastian

Rookie Mike Nzeusseu notched 26 points and 24 rebounds delivering on his promise as Lyceum Pirates trashed San Sebastian College Golden Stags 83-79 and extending their winning streak to three in the 92nd Season of NCAA Basketball Tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Tuesday 26th July.

The 6-foot-6 Cameroon import dominated the game by firing career best 26 points, 24 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 assist to even the win-loss record of 3-3. Lyceum Coach Topex Robinson looked extremely happy even after Nzeussue delivered one rebound less against promised.

In an elated manner, Robinson said:

” He promised me that he is going (to get 25). After the game, he apologized already,” “I cannot question his desire and his passion. He’s really one of the leaders of the team.”

Almost the entire team of Lyceum was following where Nzeusseu heading. Guard Ryan Costelo helped the team with team-high 23 points, 9 of which came in the most thrilling final verse where Jerick Fabian and Regille Ilagan of Golden Stags tried to stop him the most.

Wilson Baltazar proved himself as the best local scorer for Lyceum adding 14 markers, however, in final frame Caduyac, Alanes and Marata who helped Nzeussue the most to hit game winning 24 points.
After starting the season with three straight losses, Pirates entered .500 mark with the efforts of Nzeusseu, the big man for Lyceum who remained beast on the boards.

With this encounter, Nzeusseu had his 2nd 20-20 output in last 3 games, but said he still needs to get familiar with NCAA games. Nzeusseu and the team will clash with Perpetual on Friday led by Price Eze and imports Bright Akhuetie who notched 21 points against Letran last Friday.
