Bali Pure this time could not survive against Pocari Sweat that outperformed in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Monday to make it to finals.
Although started slow later bounced back and smashed Water Defenders in 4 sets, 15-25, 27-25, 25-11, 25-23, hence Pocari Sweat enters V-Leagues Finals where the team meets Philippine Air Force Jet Spikers at the same venue.
Lady Warriors cleverly gained momentum in the second set while strengthening on defense to break the hard-hitting pair of Gretchel Soltones and veteran Alyssa Valdez. Skipper Michele Gumabao, Elaine Kasilag and Myla Pablo teamed up together to attack Bali Pure, while Desiree Dadang and Mel Gohing smartly handled floor defense for Pocari Sweat that ultimately led to dominate in the third set by 14 points, 24-10.
Myla Pablo massively exploded 26 point markers, from which 22 came from attacks. Elaine Kasilag gave 21 out of which 4 were team’s final points. Michele Gumabao managed 15 markers, led the team en route to win.
Rommel Abella assistant coach of Pocari Sweat in Filipino said:
“Our motto is just to do our best and God will do the rest,” We came from a slow start. We’re like a diesel-fuele machne, she added.
