Manny Pacquiao is returning to the boxing ring to fight WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas on November 5.
This is not a surprise at all as many speculations swirled around that he would come out of retirement just after winning a senatorial set. Pacquiao still possess the speed and power to fight against younger boxers.
“Yes, the fight is on. I have agreed to a Nov. 5 (fight) with reigning WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas,” Pacquiao said.
“Boxing is my passion. I miss what I’d been doing inside the gym and atop the ring,” he added.
With the legislative demands, Pacquiao stated that his training will no derail his work in the senate.
“My entire training camp will be held here in the Philippines so I can attend to my legislative work. This is my campaign promise and I’m determined to keep it,” Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao’s manager Michael Koncz said that a promotional tour for the Pacquiao-Vargas fight would be held from 8-10 September in Los Angeles, USA but a venue for the fight is yet to be announced.
