The Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 20-10, in Monday Night Football in which Jay Cutler completed 20 of 31 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown.
The Bears managed to navigate through the defense of the Vikings especially on the ground as Jordan Howard rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown in 26 attempts. The Vikings were limited on the ground with Matt Asiata pulling off 42 yards in 14 carries.
Cutler was able to find Zach Miller who caught seven passes for 88 yards while Alshon Jeffery added 63 yards and a touchdown in four receptions as the Bears outgained the Vikings 403-258 yards.
”I think it was more fun just to watch my teammates and see how hard they played and how well they played,” Cutler said. ”One win coming into this one, they had a lot of outside noise.”
With a 13-3 lead in the first half, the Bears never looked back. They even scored a touchdown in the third quarter to increase their lead as their record has climbed into 2-6.
Minnesota has now dropped two games in a row after a 5-0 start. Sam Bradford completed 23 of 37 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown but he couldn’t shake off the defense of the Bears. Bradford was sacked six times by the Bears defense. Stefon Diggs led in receiving with 76 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings.
