Warriors sweep Jazz, advance to Western Conference Finals

The Golden State Warriors overpowered the Utah Jazz in a 121-95 win in route for a sweep and advanced to the Western Conference Finals.

The Warriors went on to have an 8-0 start in the postseason for the first time. Stephen Curry posted 30 points, five rebounds and seven assists on 15 shots. Curry delivered a 4-for-10 shooting from behind the arc while making all his eight free throws.

Draymond Green contributed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Green’s impact was felt in the game through his defense. Klay Thompson scored 21 points while Kevin Durant added 18 points and six rebounds. Andre Iguodala scored 12 points while Ian Clark added eight points coming from the bench.

The Jazz got a super performance from Gordon Hayward who scored 25 points while Shelvin Mack added 18 points. Rudy Gobert posted 12 points and 13 rebounds. The Jazz couldn’t match the speed and agility of the Warriors.

From the start, the Warriors controlled the game with a 39-17 score at the end of the first quarter. Curry, Thompson and Green were combined for 29 points in the first quarter alone. While the Jazz had a 14-0 run at the start of the second quarter, the Warriors kept pounding. At the end of the half, the Jazz had a 12-2 spurt that ended at 60-52.

“The most important thing was we imposed our will on the game and we had the game at our pace,” Green said.

The Warriors will face the winner of the Spurs vs Rockets series which is currently tied at 2-2. It will be the third straight season that the Warriors are in the NBA Finals.
