Ateneo whips UE to stay undefeated in UAAP

 

The Ateneo Blue Eagles defeated the University of the East Red Warriors, 83-65, Sunday to remain in a blameless 4-0 record in the UAAP Season 80 at Mall of Asia Arena.

Thirdy Ravena posted 21 points, eight rebounds and two assists to lead the Blue Eagles. Ravena also sparked Ateneo in the first quarter that put the team with an 18-6 advantage until. Matt Nieto scored 11 points while his twin brother Mike added 10 points to strongly help the Blue Eagles.

Also contributing in a huge way, Aaron Black had 10 points, four rebounds and two assists coming from the bench.

With the scoring juggernaut by the Blue Eagles, the Red Warriors couldn’t respond. The Blue Eagles had eight three-pointers the entire game.

For the Red Warriors, Alvin Pasaol led in scoring with 22 points in a losing cause. Nick Abanto had 10 points and nine rebounds.

The Red Warriors are now in 0-4 hole in the basketball tournament. Interestingly, the Blue Eagles are on top of the standings.
