On the Monday Night RAW special episode dedicated to WWE legends, Drew McIntyre successfully defended the WWE Championship against Keith Lee. In the midst of the festivities, Goldberg unexpectedly appeared to challenge McIntyre to face him head-to-head for the title at Royal Rumble 2021.

This has generated controversy among fans and some fighters who did not agree with the idea. However, current NXT Champion Finn Balor stated in an interview with Metro that he was excited about Goldberg’s return and what will happen in the future:

“The WWE legends have forged their legacy and have proven over the years that they still belong to the show. Whether it’s for one night or all those who wish to participate, it doesn’t affect me and it shouldn’t affect anyone else .

“For me, when the tide comes in, all the ships go up. If we can have Goldberg on the show or any legend for one night, it’ll be a great show. I myself, I welcome all WWE legends with my arms. open “.

Finn Balor will defend the NXT Championship tonight against Kyle O’Reilly in the special of the black and gold brand New Year’s Evil.
