Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already announced their first major project since their founding Archewell, named after their son, Archie. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed on Sunday, November 20 that they will financially support World Central Kitchen, the organization that Spanish chef José Andrés created in 2010. It is dedicated to providing food to communities around the world that have seen affected by natural disasters.

Specifically, with the money from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, four humanitarian aid centers will be launched in various places, as reported by the Bloomberg platform. These canteens will be used as a food distribution center, schools, safe community gathering places, or clinics.

According to the CEO of World Central Kitchen, Nate Mook, an investment of about $ 50,000 (more than 40,000 euros) will be necessary for each location. Of course, neither of the two organizations has revealed what the economic agreement they have reached is.

At the moment, construction has already begun on the first dining room in Dominica, a Commonwealth country hit by hurricanes Irma and María in 2017. World Central Kitchen expects it to be completed in 2021. They have also revealed that the second will be located in Puerto Rico and that the last two will be announced soon.

The Dukes of Sussex have highlighted in a statement the importance of the health of the communities for them. “When we think of Chef José Andrés and his incredible team at World Central Kitchen we remember that even during a year of unimaginable hardship incredible people are willing and working tirelessly to support others. World Central Kitchen inspires us through compassion in action ”, they assured.

On his part, chef José Andrés has been very proud to continue working on his project “side by side” with Meghan and Harry. “I have been able to meet both and I believe that their values are directly related to those we uphold at World Central Kitchen,” he assured.

Succeed in business

The first project of his foundation comes at a great economic moment for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Meghan Markle and Harry have just signed a succulent contract of 30 million pounds (about 32 million euros) with Spotify to be able to have their podcast. According to The Sun, the couple could have made up to 230 million pounds (more than 250 million euros) since leaving the British royal family.
