What a bombshell! Netflix confirms that it is preparing a new anime series focused on Tomb Raider. Lately, Netflix is not stopping acquiring licenses to produce new content on its streaming platform. Although it is already preparing productions such as Vikings: Valhalla, the sequel series to Vikings, or the animated series The Cuphead Show !, now the platform has confirmed that it is preparing several anime-style series, including one based on the famous franchise of Tomb Raider video games.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has announced the production of a Tomb Raider anime series, which will be written by Tasha Huo, who is working on the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin and who will also serve as executive producer of the draft. Although at the moment not many details are known about its plot, it will be linked to the events of the recent Square Enix video game trilogy that has served as a restart of the saga and, therefore, will not have any relationship with the saga movie set is currently underway with Alicia Vikander in the role of Lara Croft.
