But will the second season really happen? What’s new? Also, what can fans expect? Check below, all the official information.
Is Season 2 For Outer Banks Going To Happen?
Netflix confirmed the second season on Friday, July 24. The producers had already revealed a four-season plan for Outer Banks. In addition, the creators also confirmed that much of the second year’s action will take place in the Bahamas. They have also revealed that Netflix has authorized them to develop scripts for the second season.
However, the reason for the delay in the official announcement could be linked to the pandemic. As Outer Banks is a series with a lot of external footage, Netflix would be cautious about seeing the situation of the locations where the series is recorded.
When Will Season 2 Be Released?
According to Chase Stokes’ Instagram account, the first season started shooting in April 2019 and ended recording in October 2019. The series was released in April 2020. If the second season follows the same production schedule, we could expect a new season for the first quarter of 2021. As the recordings, however, suffered delays, it is expected to open between June and July 2021.
Who From The Outer Banks Cast Will Go Back?
Fortunately, after a dramatic end to the first season, all of our Pogues are expected to return in their second year. Thus, Chase Stokes (John B), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Austin North (Topper), Rudy Pankow (JJ), and Jonathan Daviss (Pope) will hopefully return for more mysteries, as well as Madelyn Cline, who plays Sarah, a Kook.
Who plays John B on Outer Banks?
The character is played by actor Chase Stokes. Prior to this series, he appeared on Tell Me Your Secrets, Daytime Divas, Stranger Things, and The First. Although the character is 16, the actor was born in 1992 and is now 27 years old. He also has an official Instagram account.
Spoilers: What Will Happen In Season 2?
The end of the first season of Outer Banks prepared the series for a second season. Before the events of the first season, John B’s father, old John, mysteriously disappeared. John B realizes that his father’s disappearance was somehow intertwined with the supposed treasure.
He finally learns that Sarah’s father, Ward, was working with his father to find the treasure. And then he ended up killing Big John because of a related dispute. In an argument after this finding, Sarah’s brother kills the police officer who approaches the truth. His murder is attributed to John B, but instead of facing the right prison, John B and Sarah set out to sea in the middle of a storm. The people who stayed on the Outer Banks considered them dead, so they follow the treasure trail to the Bahamas.
This leaves many territories to be explored in the second season of Outer Banks. Although the series may end up happening in the Bahamas, the story will likely show young lovebirds returning to the island. This will undoubtedly lead to a final confrontation between John B and Ward, although whether this will lead to Ward’s arrest remains to be seen. As this led to the plot of the first season and the story was never resolved, the audience can expect to see a continuation or resolution to that story.
