Peyton Royce Reveals She Misses Teaming Up With Billie Kay

WWE Superstar Peyton Royce was interviewed by Instinct Culture’s Denise Salcedo where she reflected on the breakup of The IIconics and the current solo career of her friend Billie Kay. Here are the most outstanding statements.

At first, I thought it would be liberating to part because while I loved the time we spent together, our entire WWE career we were a team. I was looking at the bright side of the situation, how could I take the opportunity to go out in the ring and see I could do it on my own. Today I feel like I’m trying to find my balance.

Billie is my teammate and my best friend in real life. Not having her with me feels strange. We even work on different days. I feel like without Billie I have lost my support system. I try not to be dependent on someone else to rebuild me. But it’s hard. Plus, I’m very happy for her, she’s doing great on SmackDown and she’s a comedy genius. I hope one day I can get to that level.

Despite the breakup of The IIconics, we stayed in touch, texting every day, training together at night, and the two of us going out for lunch.

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce have been friends since high school and both signed with WWE in 2015. Within a few months, they formed The Iconic Duo and in 2018 they rose to the main roster. Together, they went on to win the Women’s Couples Championships at WrestleMania 35 having a reign of 120 days.

The iconic separated on August 31, 2020, when they faced The Riott Squad in a match where the losing team had to dissolve indefinitely. In the WWE Draft that same year, Peyton stayed on Raw, and Billie was sent to SmackDown. Currently, Royce has formed a new team with Lacey Evans while Billie Kay delivers her resume seeking to be hired by a member of the blue brand, either as a teammate or manager.
