Singhraj Adhana Wins Bronze In Shooting At Tokyo Paralympics, India’s Eighth Medal

Singhraj Adhana won India the eighth medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. He won the Bronze medal in the SH1 event of the Men’s 10m Air Pistol

On the seventh day of the Tokyo Paralympics Games, India was given the bronze medal by shooter Singhraj Adhana. He won India’s eighth medal in these Games by winning the bronze in the men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1 event. Manish Narwal, who was participating in this event with him, missed out on the medal by staying in seventh place. Manish Narwal finished seventh in the final round. China’s defending champion Chao Yang (237.9 Paralympic records) won the gold and Huang Xing (237.5) won the silver.

In the SH1 category, shooters hold a pistol with one hand. He has a disorder in one hand or leg. In this, shooters aim by sitting or standing according to the rules. This is India’s second medal in shooting in Tokyo. Earlier, Avani Lekhara won the gold medal in the R-2 Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1.

Two Indians were in the final of the event

The final eight players of the event included two from India and three from China, 1-1 from the USA, Poland, and ROC. players were involved. The gold and silver of the event went to China. Earlier in the morning, young Indian player Manish Narwal had topped the qualifying round. He and China Lo Jialong both had 575 points. At the same time, Singhraj finished sixth in this round. His score was 569. Manish Narwal finished seventh in the final round.

Manish Narwal was out in the very first round of the final. Adhana was struggling from the beginning to make it to the top three. His 19th shot did not feel right, due to which he was behind. He was out of the medal race with his 19th shot. However, the third-ranked Chinese player, Lo, could only get a score of 8.6 in the 20th shot. Adhana got the benefit of this and once again she joined the top three and ensured the medal for the country.
