The exuberant Amazonian restaurant opens in the Oasis of Riyadh and the interior design bears the stamp of the sought-after artist Lazaro Rosa-Violan. It is immersed in a luxury complex with other restaurants such as Japanese Zuma and Greek Nammos.A jungle in the middle of the desert in express time. Created by Lazaro Rosa-Violan’s interior design studio in just four weeks. Amazonico, the most international restaurant of the businessmen Marta Seco and Sandro Silva, lands at the Riyadh Oasis luxury complex in a pop-up format, that is, for a limited time, because it can only be enjoyed until March. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a country to discover, wonderful with an exciting future,” says the hotelier and former footballer behind Grupo Paraguas, which already has headquarters of the fashion store in Madrid, where the project originated, two branches of Amazon in London and Dubai and plans to open in Doha and Las Vegas.
This winter oasis in the middle of the dunes will delight wealthy foodies, as it will share headquarters with Nammos and Zuma, places of excellent gastronomic experiences. “This project seemed very ambitious and differential to us in an impressive place. We want Amazonico to reach all parts of the world”, describe Sandro Silva (Brasilia, March 27, 1972) and Marta Seco (Oviedo, July 2, 1976), that before the pandemic they employed .100 people and seated one million diners a year at their tables, as they told the magazine of the Unity Editorial Out of Series group when they received their 2020 Character of the Year Award in the Gastronomy category.
Despite the pandemic, Grupo Paraguas has eight restaurants in Madrid (El Paraguas, Ten con Ten, Ultramarinos Quintin, Amazonico with its jazz club, Numa Pompilio, Aarde, and Origen). And it continues to expand. “It makes us see that anywhere in the world people can meet and understand each other in the same language, that of meeting, laughing and having fun vibrating together in the same frequency, the Amazon frequency”.
It is impressive how the defendant interior designer Rosa-Violán has devised this kind of exoticism in the desert and golden Riyadh, immersed in the new hotel located between Al-Ammariyah and Diriyah, the desert area on the outskirts of the city. “It is a restaurant with a great identity and its personality that we believe can fit into any environment. The reception has been really good!” exotic food with Latin American touches.
Described as “an immersive and sensory journey,” the experience encompasses an ensemble dotted with lush foliage and natural materials, as well as elegant textiles in tune with this jungle teeming with figured animals (even illustrated on the plates). The interior structure is divided into several spaces with a dining room, lounge, sushi bar, and an outdoor terrace perfect for watching the sunset washed down by cocktails to the rhythm of a DJ.
The peculiarity of this luxury hotel is that it is not possible to stay overnight. The luxury entertainment project in the Kingdom’s desert hinterland runs until April 12, 2021. Riyadh Oasis is described as “a custom-built 5-star winter sanctuary in the heart of the beautiful golden desert landscapes of Riyadh “. The concept is based on offering entertainment experiences where visitors can explore, eat, play, celebrate and camp with their closest and loved ones (up to eight people). Riyadh Oasis was launched to allow local citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia to experience recreational activities such as live entertainment, multicultural music, and shows, as well as great dining and even the chance to indulge in retail therapy with luxury brands. Those who wish to get some rest while in the desert can opt for daytime accommodation in the form of glamping. Tickets for restaurants and clamps can be booked using The Chefs app. According to media such as Arab News, restaurants cost between 500 and 860 Saudi riyals (189 euros, approximately), while a reservation for one of the lamps will cost 13,000 Saudi riyals (about 2,857 euros).
